Gathering Pipeline Valve Replacement in the Russian-Speaking Region
Project Overview
The project supplied valve replacements and spare parts to a gathering station in the Russian-speaking region, replacing failed ball valves and gate valves to restore station shutoff and sealing performance.
Challenge
Valves in service for many years at the client's site suffered internal leakage and sticking; winter temperatures at the station (around −40 °C) place demands on low-temperature material toughness. Local spare parts lead times are long and original-brand parts are hard to obtain, so the client wanted an interchangeable standardized solution to shorten downtime.
Our Solution
API 6D trunnion-mounted ball valves and sour-service gate valves replaced the originals at the same interface dimensions (face-to-face, end connections). Low-temperature carbon steel LCC / A350 LF2 ensures low-temperature toughness, and sealing faces use Trim 5 Stellite 6 weld overlay for wear resistance. EAC / TR CU 010 compliance documents and EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are supplied with the valves; spare parts (HS 8481.90) are supplied separately to shorten the shutdown window.
Results
The replacement valves were installed and commissioned and passed seat testing; shutoff and isolation functions at the station were restored. No cold embrittlement or leakage occurred in the low-temperature environment. Separate spare parts supply shortened subsequent maintenance cycles, and the client moved from a one-off replacement to long-term spare parts and complete-valve cooperation.
