Our Products
The Y-pattern globe valve (also called straight-through or oblique-stem globe valve) has its stem set at an angle to the body bore axis, so the medium passes through almost in a straight line and the flow resistance is only about one third that of a straight-through globe valve. It combines the sealing performance of a globe valve with flow resistance close to that of a gate valve.
It is suitable for media that are highly viscous, high-velocity, prone to crystallisation or contain a small amount of solids, such as steam, heat-transfer oil and slurry lines, where it serves for shutoff and regulation. It is a common valve type for high-temperature, high-pressure steam blowdown and condensate systems.
Features
· Straight-through oblique-stem design, flow resistance about 1/3 of the straight-through type
· Combines globe valve sealing with pressure loss close to a gate valve
· Suitable for high-viscosity, crystallising and solids-laden media
· Seating surface can be hardfaced with a hard alloy
· Flanged or butt weld connections
· Handwheel / gearbox / electric operation
